In 1914 the artist travelled to west africa on a steamship and made some paintings from the trip. Two were sold at auction 37 in 2003 (no. 2274 and 2275). Unfortunately, bruun rasmussen got them mixed up, so this (no. 2275) is not fuerta ventüra - de kanariske øer but instead den spanske sø, as written in the inscription. Object Type: painting.
