The schooner rigged steamer fox in 1860, just after it was bought from england. Built in aberdeen in 1855, fox took part in the second franklin expedition before being sold to danish owners on the last day of 1859. Did one tour of seal hunting in 1860 and was back in british ownership 1860-1864, before being bought by danish owners again. Source: hanne poulsen, danske skibsportrætmalere, page 85.
