Henry wood's books, the latest dating 1883. Furthermore, the writer of the introduction, katharine tynan, and the illustrator, harold piffard, were born in 1859 and 1867, respectively. Neither would have been old enough to make their contributions if the book was published between 1860-1869. An abebooks.
