Pitt says: "i do not like thees irish butts [sic] if i can get them once in my clutches i'll teach erin go brack. " dundas says: "oh billy oh billy this is mad work there is no governing theese wild [word erased] but pat shall pay for this irish howie is he coming i am all of a tremble & wish he would not give me so mulch [sic] of his irish brogue. "
both wear top-boots, suggesting they have been riding the bull. The words "no union erin go brach" issue from the animal. In the background (right) members of the opposition, a small group, cheer on the bull, shouting, "go it my boy".
