Detail with St. Ann and Mary Magdalene, Józef Mehoffer, between 1907 and 1909
The detail of the picture shows st. Anne on the left and mary magdalene on the right. Both women are wearing precious cloaks. According to the artist's intention, the depiction of the cloaked round anna should awaken thoughts of pregnancy. Behind her are: immaculately conceived our lady and the blessing jesus and between them hovers the holy spirit dove. The right-hand window track shows mary magdalene in profile under a dark veil. This points to the bride who turns away from earthly pleasures. Object Type: painting. Date: between 1907 and 1909. Place of creation: en:Fribourg, Switzerland. Medium: stained glass.
