Inv. 2135 comes from the festive tier of the assumption cathedral in vladimir from the festive tier of the iconostasis of the assumption cathedral. Average state of preservation. Many losses with insertions of new gesso (above joseph's head, on the ciborium, on simeon's garment and at the bottom of the board). Almost nothing remains of the gold of the background and halos. The upper layers of painting are badly washed off (especially on joseph's face). The somewhat harsh composition, devoid of rublev's marvelous rhythm, indicates the hand of not the master himself, but his student. Date: 1408.
