Costumes for masked balls by charles vernier after pichat, paris, lemercier, 1860 set of 12 plates published in 1860 under the title costumes for masked balls. These prints were engraved by charles vernier based on compositions by olivier pichat. These plates were ordered for maison moreau, a costume house renowned for its ball costumes located at the time 7 rue des filles saint-thomas in paris after having occupied 18 rue vivienne. The house was then managed by delphine baron. The two series of costumes for masked balls by charles vernier published in 1860 consist of the following plates: - captain scaramouche, the order of the legion of honor, pearl fairy, thirty and forty, moldovalaque, gypsy. - the sire of monsoreau, venetian fantasy, the favorite, la roulette, la gitana, naimer-sultane. Date: 1860.
