Hms queen sailing out of portsmouth harbour, elegant figures in the foreground h. M. S. Queen was built in 1839 in portsmouth dockyard. She was the flagship of the mediterranean fleet under the command of vice-admiral sir campbell rich owen (1771-1849), who took her out to the mediterranean in 1843. An autograph version of this composition was sold by sotheby's on 15th july 1992, lot 4 auction marine art lot 23 sale 2006. Object Type: painting. Date: 19th century.
