The rue drouot was created in the early eighteenth century, but it was extended in the second half of the nineteenth century, following the "haussmannization" of paris. The street housed many "magasins de nouveautés", as well as the famous hôtel drouot, which, to this day, is the most renowned auction gallery in the french capital city. Date: 7 December 1861.
