Engraving entitled "l'académie" produced by tiburce de mare, reproducing the oil on canvas "l'académie" by the le nain brothers (louis and antoine?), kept at the louvre museum (rf 701) since 1892. This engraving, which appeared in an issue of the gazette des beaux-arts in the second half of the 19th century, probably before 1892, was printed by a. Clément. The engraving in the gazette des beaux-arts was cited by the consultative committee of the national museums (december 17, 1892) shortly after the acquisition of the painting, when the latter debated the attribution of this work to the le nain brothers, put forward by m. Champfleury in the article illustrated by the engraving by tiburce de mare. Like the original work attributed to the le nain brothers, the engraving by tiburce de mare represents seven men in an interior. Some are standing, others are sitting around a table on which there are scattered papers, books and a mandolin. Object Type: gravure. Date: seconde moitié du XIXe siècle. Dimensions: du montage : 23,5 × 50 cm; ; à la cuvette : 16 × 20 cm. Medium: etching print. Collection: Museum of Fine Arts of Nancy. L'Académie, Tiburce de Mare, gravure d'après les frères Le Nain
