St. Vitus (Balzhausen) 06, Johann Baptist Bergmüller

St. Vitus (balzhausen), fresco (1768): saint theophilus. This refers to saint theophilus of adana, who had given his soul to the devil for career reasons, later prayed repentantly to the mother of god and was heard: finally, he once dreamed that the holy virgin had appeared to him and had brought him back the document of his pact with the devil. When he awoke, he actually found the fateful document in his hands and was able to burn it. See the lexicon of saints. Date: 7 August 1994.
