World war i poster. Appeal to food administration by belgian cardinal désiré-joseph mercier (1851-1928). Text: "cardinal mercier. The cardinal implores the food administration to come to immediate aid, by sending more food and supplies, to the millions of hungry poor on the verge of starvation. Therefore, consume less bread, meat, fat and sugar. Increase as much as possible your shipments to the unfortunate victims of the war, in france, in belgium, in italy. ". Date: 1917.
