It stood on istván tér in újpest, originally as a stone statue between 1947 and 1986, when due to damage it was cast in bronze and placed on a lower pedestal in the same place. In 1991, only the bronze statue part of the former monument was added to the megyeri cemetery as a soviet military memorial in the plot of world war ii (mainly soviet) military graves located around it. The names of the known deceased are engraved on tablets in cyrillic letters on its stepped, low pedestal. Creator: andrás kocsis, istván kiss.
