From a group of very early daguerreotypes by dr john william draper. The fingers on the left as well as the arm, hair, chin and collar of the subject can be made out. It is speculated that this image is drapers very first portrait daguerreotype of his assistant, william henry goode, made on september 22 or 23, 1839. For more information see: https://historybroker.
