Piracy of plate iii of hogarth's rake's progress with considerable differences: a room at the rose tavern, drury lane; to left, tom, surrounded by prostitutes and clearly drunk, sprawls on a chair; one young woman embraces him and steals his watch, another spits a stream of gin across the table, to right, a harpist and a door through which enters a man, and a pregnant ballad singer holding a sheet lettered "black joke"; on the walls hang a print of the seven wonders of the world and framed prints of characters from the beggar's opera, roman emperors, the murderess sarah malcolm and henry sacheverell; later impression. 1735 etching.
