genre scene. Exterior scene: paris, "boulevart montmartre". Characters: a fashion saleswoman holding a box attached to her arm and carrying a pair of scissors at her waist, places a few coins in the hat of a young savoyard. Two men and a soldier observe a man, carrying an infant, and his two boys begging on their knees. A chimney sweep also asks for alms. Knee pads. A car passes in the background.
