Russian school, circa 1755 catherine ii (1729-1796), empress of russia 1762-1796 in lace-bordered pale blue silk dress with ruffled sleeves, ermine-bordered orange cloak draped over her shoulders, her dark brown hair dressed in curls, wearing the red sash, badge and breast-star of the russian order of st. Catherine rectangular, 3¼ x 2½ in. (84 x 63 mm. ), shaped gilt-metal mount. Date: circa 1755.
