Bonndorf Peter und Paul ohne Strom, before 1901

Bonndorf Peter und Paul ohne Strom, before 1901

Photo of a picture of the interior of the church from the time before electricity was introduced in bonndorf. The exact date of the picture is not clear, but must be around 1900. The following clues may be appropriate: from 1905, there was (direct) electricity in bonndorf, provided by the municipal electricity works. After 1905, the church was lit by a chandelier that hung in the middle of the nave. The pulpit is the one that was installed in 1850 when the church was built. This was later replaced by a larger one with four wooden reliefs (church teachers). The stations of the cross must also be from 1850, because today there are other stations of the cross that are said to be by simmler. The wall surfaces at the stations of the cross no longer have ornamental paintings. The nativity scene in the middle goes back to simmler and is now in the house chapel of the st. Laurentius old people's and nursing home, the former "hospital chapel". Date: before 1901.
