In 1895, prime minister boström had appointed a secret parliamentary committee to deal with the union issue. In 1905 he proposed the same measure, which was also carried out. However, the deliberations in this committee fail. The crown prince's peaceful line met with opposition from both the government and the riksdag. This led, among other things, to prime minister boström resigning and a new government under prime minister ramstedt taking office. Despite this, they still failed to reach agreement in the committee. It is illustrated by this picture with the minister of justice berger as cellar master. "clean table" with cellar master berger (the minister of justice). He looks at the ruins the next day and exclaims: “oh, oh, my precious tableware. Admittedly, it was only committee porcelain. But where am i going to get hold of some people who will take it up?”. Date: 1905.
