Frankfurt am main, hotel englischer hof (hotel d'angleterre) at roßmarkt 13-15. It was built in 1797 by nicolas salins de montfort on behalf of the innkeeper/hotelier lippert, demolished in 1904, and was the venue for concerts of the frankfurt museum society from 1808-1829. Until 1824, the innkeeper lippert also owned a villa in the independent town of bockenheim, kurhessen, which was later bought by the progenitor of the bockenheim family of donors, johann conrad rohmer, and then called villa rohmer. Johann conrad rohmer (* 19 march 1769 in eltersdorf near nuremberg + 25 november 1825 in bockenheim) was a citizen, merchant and trader of the free city of frankfurt am main and his wife johanna dorothea sophia barbara née peters (* 01 june 1787 in wennebostel in hanover + 13 november 1858) was buried in the "old" cemetery in frankfurt bockenheim solmsstraße. On the right-hand neighboring property stood the building "die goldene kette", which the wine merchant and banker johann noe (noah) gogel (1715-1789) bought from the von der lahr family on 01 february 1761. In addition to his business premises, he also maintained his private rooms for his extensive family here. He used four rooms for his then famous painting collection of around 500 pictures, his book collection of around 3,000 books and his instrument collection. Both buildings were demolished around 1900 and replaced by buildings in the historicist style, which were then destroyed by aerial bombs in the second world war and were not rebuilt in the same style. The old hotel englischer hof (hotel d'angleterre) was demolished by the last owner junior and rebuilt in the historicist style at the new location at the main station on the corner of kaiserstrasse under the same name as the hotel englischer hof (hotel d'angleterre) by the builder junior. This hotel was later closed and converted into a commercial building with shops. This building was also badly damaged by incendiary bombs in the second world war and was not rebuilt in the original style. Date: 1878.
