This menu from the 1911 scottish exhibition tea room (white cockade tea room) was designed by margaret macdonald. This menu is on display at the interpretation center for the work of c. R. Mackintosh and mr macdonald called "the lighthouse" (former building designed by mackintosh for the "glasgow herald" newspaper). Www. Huntsearch. Gla. Ac. Uk/cgi-bin/foxweb/huntsearch_mackin. . . Charles rennie mackintosh (1868-1928) was a glasgow-born architect, painter and designer who is considered one of the main precursors of the modern movement. With margaret macdonald, who became his wife in 1900, his friend herbert mcnair and his wife frances macdonald, margaret's sister, all from the "glasgow school of art", he formed a group of very innovative artists for the time called "the four", influenced by art nouveau, symbolism and the english "arts and crafts" movement.
