Preparations for the crucifixion of Christ, Mariano Salvador Maella

The work represents jesus christ sitting on the cross while one executioner tears off his tunic and another holds his right arm. To the right of the work, a worker digs the hole for the cross and a roman soldier closes the composition. On the left, the virgin mary, mother of christ, and saint mary magdalene appear with a contrite gesture. In the background, the thieves with their crosses and some soldiers on horseback.
