'the storm subsiding' [cape colonna]. 'palemon, wounded and dying. . '; illustration to falconer's 'the shipwreck' (1811 ed. , p. 139) the last of a series of ten drawings, of which the collection holds nine (paf5913–paf5921). The printed description of the plate based on it reads: 'view of cape colonne [sic]. The scattered remains of the wreck floating towards the shore. On the fore-ground, palemon, wounded and dying delivers to his friend arion, who is supporting him, the portrait of anna. ' this example, formerly in an oval mount, shows the difference between pocock's original colouration round the long-protected edges, in contrast with the area long exposed to light.
