Horizontal view shows men, women and children upon or beside donkeys, most of whom carry barrels, while in the river a boat with four men is visible being rowed in left middle distance and an empty boat lies in the river in the right foreground. A wooded bank, visible in the distance, contains a fenced cocoanut grove, a house, and two figures at right. Scattered clouds in the sky. A woman's head with a water barrel is visible at upper left.
