The frigate frederik den siette of the danish asiatic company was previously named christianshavn, but changed name in 1828 in gratitude of a royal grant for a much needed overhaul. Jacob petersen made this painting in pen and watercolour, probably for the captain, c. C. Tronier, commemorating the ships's departure for china in 1829. Size 51 x 67 cm.
