Field post letters from hans koch, vienna, world war ii, eastern front, 1922-1945 previous letter (1944-09-12) letter no. 280 (1944-09-17) next letter (1944-09-19) envelope: front back front back back - rotated text well, unfortunately that can't be. But when the war is over and everything goes back to normal then i'll definitely come here and you'll have to come with me. I can certainly be happy that i've been lucky enough to have been here in this beautiful part of our homeland for so long. I've had and am still having very nice days here, it would be even nicer at home with you, even the attacks couldn't bother me, we could put up with it. For now we'll just have to be content and look forward to seeing each other again later! thank you very much for the letter from poldi. I've already written to mrs. Lockl as i haven't had any mail for a long time. He is now in france and we really hope that everything goes well for him. I also wrote to karl, what is he doing? please say hello to kurtl and the peterecks. Mom, please send me some tobacco products if you can! we are running low on them. But you don't need to buy any extra on the black market, they are too expensive! now, my dear mom, be very careful again and stay healthy! best wishes and kisses from the bottom of my heart from your hansl. Date: 17 September 1944.
