A depiction of zaffira (named on p. 645 of the source), said to be one of the wives of ottoman sultan ibrahim i, with a servant boy. She and her son osman (illustrated in a separate engraving: see below) were on a turkish ship that was part of a convoy sailing from constantinople to alexandria and carrying a number of pilgrims bound for mecca, which was attacked by the knights hospitaller of malta during the action of 28 september 1644.
