a woman and a man with animal heads stand in a living room. The man dressed like a bourgeois has the head of a boar, he is untying the scarf of a grisette with the head of a cat. The cat carries sewing scissors at her waist and holds a hat box in her hands. Extract from métamorphoses du jour (published by gustave havard libraire, paris, 1854): "poor little cat! you are so kind and so jealous of the cleanliness of your toilet, learn that the contact of this filthy beast is enough to defile you and make you ugly. [. . . ] so flee!"
