Design is based on guido reni's "aurora," palazzo rospigliosi, rome. The clouds rise from the sea and carry apollo in his chariot. He is accompanied by the hours; the group is preceded by aurora and two genii holding a jar and flowers. In the lower right, neptune stands onshore; he holds the reigns of his horse and his trident.
