This is a photograph of the three artist-judges of the 1922 daily mirror holiday beauty competition, junior section, taken at the savoy hotel, london. Note: this is a screenshot of a poor-quality microfilm of a newsprint copy of an original photoraph. It is not possible to clean it up without losing detail. The problem is the actual object of my screenshot. The british library has badly-microfilmed all the photographs in its british newspaper archive, then closed access to all its newspapers permanently to staff and public. That means, unless another archive copy of this newspaper can be found elsewhere, we can never get a better-quality version of this picture. You can't clean up a photograph of something which is mucky, any more than you can clean the mud off a photograph of muddy boots. If you must attempt to clean it up, please put your cleaned-up version in another file, so that this file retains the detail which you have lost in your cleanup. Please do not overwrite this image.
