In 1720, louise-françoise, duchess of bourbon, legitimized daughter of louis the duchess of bourbon contacted an italian architect, giardini, who began work on her hotel in 1722. The latter died just a few months after the start of the work and the site was then entrusted to lassurance, who in turn died in 1724, leaving the building still unfinished.
