Plate 31: in the foreground, soldiers from the republican guard, standing, both wearing a blue jacket with tails (red lining), a red piece across the torso, and red epaulettes and braiding; the infantryman to left has a tall cap, blue tousers, a rucksack with a rolled item on top, a small satchel strapped behind him, and is equipped with a sword and a firearm with bayonet; the cavalryman to right has white trousers, tall boots, an ornate a helmet with red plume, and carries his weapon under one arm; further away to right, two soldiers, one of them accompanied by an elegant woman hand-coloured lithograph.
