Field post letters from hans koch, vienna, world war ii, eastern front, 1922-1945 previous letter (1944-05-30) letter 251 (1944-06-02) next letter (1944-06-05) envelope: front back text blankenburg, 2 june 1944. My beloved mum! this greeting from me will probably reach you quicker than usual. I am giving this letter to a comrade who is travelling home with him via vienna. How much rather i would come with you myself! i also sent you a letter and a card, this one asking for your swimming trunks. Did you receive it? i have not had any mail from you for a few days now and i am already waiting for it. I always have to know how my dear mum is and what's new?! did you have the alarm again and did anything happen? they were very heavy here on monday. A few bombs fell on halberstadt too, but not much happened. And here in b. , thank god, they still leave us alone. If only this misery would end! Date: 2 June 1944.
