My beloved mother! your lovely letter has once again given me great joy. So you have received my letters? magazines with stationery have arrived too. The mail is the only thing that brings us joy and variety. The day before yesterday it was great again, i was at the cinema again. We are always as happy as children then. We laugh the most at the newsreel [the german newsreel] because we know what is really going on. In my last letter i wrote to you about a change and that the mail would take a little longer. I don't think that's relevant now. You don't need to worry about it. Date: 28 January 1943.
