Belisarius recognized by one of his soldiers, François de Nomé, 1620

On either side of a long passageway are aligned buildings in a baroque and bizarre style, lit by a setting sun. On the right an entrance gate guarded by two satyrs in atlanteans; further away the facade of a sort of fantastic cathedral; on the left, a fountain. In the passageway, characters dressed in sorts of colorful togas are chatting. On a footbridge, two indistinguishable characters, in which, says the title of the work, one must recognize a soldier (plumed) and the old general belisarius as a beggar leaning on the balustrade.
