Field post letters from hans koch, vienna, world war ii, eastern front, 1922-1945 previous letter (1944-03-02) letter no. 238 (1944-03-03) next letter (1944-03-06) envelope: front back text blankenburg, march 3, 1944 my beloved mother! i read on the noticeboard again that i have a registered letter. Of course i went straight over and picked it up. I immediately felt that there was something hard in it and thought of the pictures. Thank you very much for these and the whole letter. I'm not impressed by the pictures though; i'm glad i went to see rohringer. You can see straight away what a good photographer he is. Well, it doesn't matter, i'll just send these pictures one by one to "interested parties, both male and female". The first ones from r. Will be kept for special cases. I don't understand why i was able to respond to telegram number 26. The main thing is that everything is ok and my dear mother is healthy! have they been here again? they are often with us, mostly during the day, when you can see them right up high, but i don't think they're throwing anything here. Of course, we soldiers go straight to the cellar when the alarm goes off. You don't need to worry, i take care of myself, i've learned that enough. Karl also wrote to me that he wasn't well and that he had problems with his leg. How they can make him fit for military service is a mystery to me. Date: 3 March 1944.
