Feldpost von Hans 1935-09-01 Tante3, 1 September 1935

Field post letters from hans koch, vienna, world war ii, eastern front, 1922-1945 previous letter (1935-08-30) letter date (1935-09-01) next letter (1935-11-27) envelope: front back: blank text september 1st, 1935. Dear mrs. Koch, this time things would soon have gone badly for hansi; on friday we suddenly heard that the children's holiday program would end on september 3rd and that hansi and another viennese holiday girl, who is staying here in ehenbichl with mrs. Wörle for free, would have to join the last children's holiday transport from außerfern [the reutte district is the same as the außerfern region] and leave from here on the morning of september 3rd; otherwise the parents would have to pay the travel costs for the boy and girl themselves! in this case it would be about 35'sch per child! no amount of scamming at the responsible office helped, they simply said: the railway station mission will no longer take the children from september 3rd either! thom. [thomas] has now managed to get a telephone call from innsbruck to at least postpone the departure of the two children until friday, september 6th. Please try to get the train tickets for hansi quickly from the office where they issued him the tickets for the journey here! you wrote that you could do that! we would keep hansi until september 13th; the 14th is saturday and the boy would come home early on sunday and could. Date: 1 September 1935.
