David Lynn Magruder

Cased colored ambrotype with subject shown from the waist up, looking forward. David lynn magruder, a native pennsylvanian, joined the u. S. Army in 1850; captain and assistant surgeon, feb. 1, 1855; major and surgeon, april 16, 1862; brevetted lieutenant colonel, march 13, 1865 for "faithful and meritorious services during the war. " after the war he attained the rank of brigadier general. Married mary c. Larkin of st. Louis during the war, oct. 15, 1863. Title: david lynn magruder. Date: between circa 1850 and circa 1859.
