My dear mum! warm greetings and kisses again. You can’t imagine my joy when the two packages arrived yesterday. Thank you so much for that. The cake and biscuits from my beloved mum’s hand tasted so good again. The sausages and cigarettes are great too. There’s supposed to be some mail today, hopefully i’ll have something with me too. It’s the only joy. My thoughts are very much back home today. Usually the “krampuß” [krampus] always came today, how lovely that always was. Now [all these lovely things are coming. ]. Date: 5 December 1942.
