Field post letters from hans koch, vienna, world war ii, eastern front, 1922-1945 previous letter (1941-11-22) letter no. 43 (1941-12-01) next letter (1941-12-03) envelope: front back text [i was brought here by bus with several] comrades. My eyes widened; i saw electric light again and then beds in front of all of them. That was quite unusual; i haven’t seen either since may. I’m lying in a bed like that now and am starving. But it’s definitely nicer in here than outside in a hole in the ground in this cold. So don’t worry and don’t be afraid, i’m fine!! it’s just a shame about the christmas packages; they won’t reach me now; they’ll stay with the troops and be distributed among my comrades at christmas; nothing can be sent on! it’s possible that i’ll be back with the company by christmas. Date: 1 December 1941.
