Field post letters from hans koch, vienna, world war ii, eastern front, 1922-1945 previous letter (1941-03-23) letter no. 6 (1941-03-29) next letter (1941-04-06) envelope: front back text göttingen, march 29, 1941. Dear parents! i received your lovely letter with an enclosure today. Thank you very much for it. I didn’t think the money would arrive so quickly. I can really use the bread stamps. But you don’t need to send me any more now, or you’ll miss them. I know how scarce bread is at home. Thank you again for the lovely package! the milk is especially good! just imagine, our mail is always distributed at lunchtime, and my name is read out in the parcel post. I couldn’t believe it, since i have only just received one package from you. Well, i’ll go and pick up the package. It was a nice size and quite heavy. I looked at the sender, who was it? from lakl poldi. Well, i was happy. Lots of lovely things. Cakes, pastries, sausage and, most importantly, a whole packet of butter. Well, the landlords can afford it. Karl and i munched away! dear mum, you don't need to spend any money on the fancy things, you need the [things yourself]. Date: 29 March 1941.
