One of two prints issued with hogarth's treatise "the analysis of beauty": a sculptor's yard (said to be that of john cheere at hyde park corner) with copies of well-known classical sculptures including the farnese hercules, the antinous, the laocoon and the medici venus; in the foreground, a sheet with three studies of an écorché leg and a man holding a book on proportion; forming a border around the main image are 49 compartments with diagrams relating to the text (not yet completed in this state, see paulson); the image is numbered throughout in brown ink. 1753
