Plate 5: entry of cardinal-infante ferdinand into antwerp through the emperor's gate (keizerspoort); in the company of maidens and a winged boy representing the genius of antwerp ('genius urbis antverpiensis'), the maiden of antwerp ('antverpia') has descended from her gilded car to greet the prince; she kneels before him, presenting with a laurel wreath on a salver; the antwerp burgomaster, robert tucher, accompanies ferdinand on horseback at centre; smoke from cannons at right; illustration for gaspar gevaerts' "pompa introitus" (antwerp, 1641) engraving and etching.
