The portrait depicts a moscow philanthropist, honorary member of the sretensky trusteeship for the poor, chairperson of the society for the distribution of useful books, the serene princess alexandra petrovna lieven, née vasilchikova (1861-1929). According to the memoirs of her contemporaries, “the woman, although beautiful, was incredibly tall. .
