from 1791 to 1817, the historical tables of the french revolution went through five editions, expanded and corrected. The carnavalet museum has the editions of 1798, 1802 and 1804. That of 1798 includes 64 new paintings and 59 portraits. For 1802, only the title and the text change; finally the 4th edition (1804) is increased by 6 new portraits. J. -l. Prieur provided the majority of the drawings while the contribution to the 1791-1794 and 1798 editions of the engraver p. G. Berthault is attested. The insurrection of september 6, 1790 was the direct consequence of the decision of the national assembly to suppress the breton parliament ("france is one and indivisible") leading to the end of brittany's autonomy. Troubles had been fomented by the crew of the ship leopard as well as by the troops of the port-au-prince regiment embarked on the ship america, the first ship to come out of american shipyards, which had been offered to france by the united states congress.
