Ludwig mack / lithographer: rudolph lohbauer: the underworld (between 1824 and 1829), detail right: charon and the weeping shadows. Bas-relief, whereabouts unknown. Charon, the ferryman of hades, lies with his three-headed hellhound cerberus on the banks of the river styx, blocking the way back to the upper world for the weeping shadows who are waiting for the judgment of the dead.
