the poem reads:
"ce chien qui m'obeit doit servir de modéle
a tout galant qui voudra m'en conter:
il est discret, complaisant et fidéle,
amants, pour être aymés, tachez de l'jmiter. "
the small writing says:
"jnventé et peint par jac. Courtin
et gravé par j. B. De poilly
je vend a paris chez les freres de poilly rue st jacques a la belle jmage -"
