Snow scene from the kabuki play 'akegarasu', showing the actors bando shuka as urasato of yamana-ya (centre) biting her bandana, a rope on the ground around her, ichikawa danjuro viii as tokijiro (sato yomoshichi) standing in a purple robe talking to kichiya as a kamuro (a courtesan's page) (left), and arashi kichisaburo as yamana-ya soemon (right) in a yellow checked robe holding a pipe standing before a stone lantern. Date: 1851 2nd lunar month.
