Pogrzeb poległych w nocnej bitwie nocnej w Rafajłowej, Karpaty, Stanisław Janowski, January 1915

In the photo we see the funeral of legionnaires of the 2nd brigade of polish legions, from the operational group of col. Józef haller, killed in the night battle in rafajłowa (january 23-24, 1915). The author of this photo was then serving on the staff of col. Hallera as a war reporter and took photos on the battlefield and later during the funeral of the fallen. He published his memories of this event in the article bloody sunday in the carpathians, "panteon polski" 1924, no. 3, pp. 2-3. Date: January 1915.
