On the right you can see the corner house at kanalstrasse 11, which in the middle provides access to the baking powder and pudding powder manufacturer meine & liebig. To the left, georgstrasse continues towards goethestrasse, from which a horse-drawn tram of the later hanover tramway (üstra) leaves. The scene, taken around 1890, only seems so lifeless because of the very long exposure time for the photo, because most people and objects moved faster and therefore seemed invisible.
